Flowers of the Phalaenopsis Orchid have good longevity. They can last up to 3 months. You can often urge a second flowering from each spike with a timely pruning. This could help the plant to have flowers for up to 6-7 months in a calender year.

When the flowers have fallen off the spike is cut at 3 nodes above the base or at the new budding. This is helpful for re-blooming.
